See, when you sign up for Google Part, which you can do for any new or existing Google/Gmail account, you get the option of choosing a new phone number. (You can also larboard an existing number, but that's not part of the discussion today.)
One of the tidy things about Google Articulation is that you can route calls to that number to any/totally of your extant numbers (home, office, cell phone, etc.).
However, I get into't use mine that way. Instead, I use my Google Voice total for those times when I'm signing up for a unimprisoned trial run, or registering for a service, or anything else that requires a phone number—but I don't want to use my home or floating act.
